As we crossed the threshold for the vernal equinox…. a beautiful weekend was upon us.
So, the garden became the playground of choice for Nomad Farms. The two wheel tractor was put on-line for its season debut and a rotary plow was put to good use. A new raised bed of carrots was sown and peas, spinach and the last round of spring garlic was set.
In the greenhouse things are looking great across the board. Eggplants, peppers and tomatoes are all up along with some flowers and some were even due for a “potting on.” Bunching onions are looking lovely and are ready to shortly head out to the garden. All of the spring greens are making a strong showing. New to the rotation is head lettuce. New trays were sown to be ready for the first fresh spring salads.
Even though it looks like a good chance of snow this week and colder temperatures persist at night, the garden is progressing beautifully.
Peddlers’ Produce’s featured item of the week is its 20 week subscription box. We have a limited supply of 4 and there a great season awaits for the veggie lovers out there. Read more or sign up through our store’s product page.
